Mboko Camp can only be combined with Ngaga Camp & Lango Camp on a journey through the central African rainforests. Whilst the main focus at Ngaga Camp is the tracking of gorillas and gorilla research, Mboko Camp offers a completely different and broader range of experiences.
Experiences on offer at Mboko Camp include a combination of walking, boating and kayaking through some of the most beautiful habitats of the Congo Basin. Guests at Mboko are spoiled for choice on how to spend their days, whether it be paddling down the Lekoli River or take a boat upstream or explore deeper into the forests on foot. Enjoy breath-taking views of tropical rainforest, waterways and savannah dotted with hundreds of termite mounds which create an otherworldly experience. The wildlife here includes the elusive forest elephant as well as forest buffalo where you can enjoy sightings during your breakfast from the elevated dining room across the misted savannah. In the evenings look out for fireflies and you may catch a glimpse of the spotted hyena.
There are Ten chalets dotted along the banks of a tributary of the Lekoli River with private decking and views of either the forest or river. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom with hot showers and flush toilets, mosquito net, and environmentally friendly products. The dining room, lounge and bar area are nearby with views out into the open grasslands. There is a star deck and fire pit in which to enjoy and unwind after a day walking through the numerous biomes or boating activities done that day.
