The Inn at English Harbour is a stunning 28 room luxury boutique hotel set in 19 acres of gardens with a stunning white sand beachfront at one end of Galleon Beach overlooking Freemans Bay. The view is across the mouth of English Harbour which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a small cosy hotel with small yachts anchored in the bay and is a very tranquil place to stay. This place of tranquillity is best suited to adults as there are no children’s facilities but a few of the rooms can connect to other rooms if necessary.
There is a water taxi service which takes 3 minutes to get across to Nelsons Dockyard which is a hive of activity with its museum, restaurants, shops and bars. The hotel is owned by an Italian family and the culinary experience is very much a blend of Italian traditions and West Indies spice which some of the produce sourced from their own organic garden. Some of the best food in Antigua can be found at The Terrace Restaurant on the top hillside of the property.
Guests at The Inn at English Harbour can do as little or as much as they want; there is laser sailing, kayaking, peddle boats, snorkelling gear, tennis courts and a small boutique spa and a small basic fitness centre. There is also plenty to see around the island, charter a boat for the day, or take a guided hike through the rainforest.
All of the 28 rooms and suites are air conditioned and have ceiling fans, minibar, flat-screen cable tv, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone and safe. The 4 Beach Cabanas are the smallest rooms but are fabulously located just off the beach. All the other rooms are positioned behind the infinity pool with views across the gardens to the sea and either have a veranda on the ground floor or a terrace/balcony on the upper floor.
