St Barths – officially the Collectivité territoriale de Saint-Barthélemy – is an overseas collectivity of France. This volcanic island, encircled by reefs, is the perfect sun-filled destination not only for lazy days on the beach but also for enjoying more active pastimes, with ample scope for deep sea fishing, diving, kite surfing and much more. With its French heritage it is little wonder that St Barths is also a gourmet’s delight, well known for its fine dining with a diversity of restaurants providing a variety of culinary styles ranging from classic French to West Indian.

Shoppers will not be disappointed while strolling among the glittering jewellery stores and designer boutiques, before sitting on the terrace of a waterfront café to people watch or to gaze at the fabulous yachts moored in the harbour. St Barths is a chic and sophisticated island which appeals to those who seek the sybaritic way of life.

The best time to travel to St. Barths is during the dry season, which runs from December to April. This period provides the most favourable weather with sunny days, low humidity, and average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C. The Caribbean Sea is calm, making it perfect for water-based activities such as snorkelling, diving, and sailing. Moreover, the island hosts a vibrant social scene during this time, with many high-end events and festivals, attracting travellers from around the world.

The shoulder season, from May to June and November, is also a great time to visit St. Barts. Although there might be some occasional rainfall, the weather remains warm, and the island is less crowded compared to the peak months. During this period, travellers can still enjoy a peaceful retreat with a chance to find attractive deals on accommodations and activities.

The wet season in St. Barths lasts from July to October when the island experiences higher humidity and an increased chance of tropical storms or hurricanes. While the risk of a direct hit by a hurricane is relatively low, travellers should remain vigilant and stay updated on weather forecasts.
